This ear oil was a game-changer for us – my first daughter had had multiple ear infections as an infant, and once her doctor recommended that we start thinking about ear tubes, we started researching more natural remedies first. After starting a combination of this ear oil and the massage therapy described in No More Antibiotics: Preventing and Treating Ear and Respiratory Infections the Natural Way , both of my kids have only had a handful of ear infections in the five years since… and the ear infections were almost always because I’d forgotten to start doing the oil / massage at the end of each cold.
Now that my kids are a little older (5 and 2.5), our routine for the 2.5YO is to start doing a few drops of ear oil / massage 1x/day at the start of a cold, increasing to 2-3x/day as the cold clears up (which would be the most likely time for fluid to build up and/or an ear infection to develop). The 5YO can tell us with more accuracy when her ears are starting to bother her, so we only do the ear oil / massage when she asks. Again, except for when I’d forgotten to do the oil / massage timely, I have to imagine this routine has avoided many, many ear infections; my kids are both in daycare and are sick frequently, and at least for my older daughter, she had gotten an ear infection with every single cold until we started using this ear oil.
And for the times that they did get an ear infection anyway? With our doctor’s ok, we’ve elected to monitor the ear infections for a few days, avoiding putting our kids on antibiotics (and then dealing with the awful GI issues that tend to follow) and instead stepping up the oil / massage routine. Every time we’ve done this so far, the ear infection has cleared up within a day or two.
I cannot recommend this ear oil highly enough! And as an added bonus, I happen to love the smell of garlic, so I think it smells great (although I could understand that some people may find the smell more objectionable). Still seems worth it, in my opinion.

I suffer from tinnitus. I’ve had multiple ear infections in the past and at one point the doctor told me I might need ear tubes. I would rather skip that if I can so I began to research home remedies. I read an article about using ear oil so I did more research on that and that’s how I found this.
Ive used it for three days so far and there’s a noticeable improvement. The ringing has gotten much less prominent for one thing. I was a little skeptical at first since I’ve never used anything like this before but now I’m glad I gave it a try. It comes with a dropper too so you can easily apply it into your ears. Once it goes in, it feels very soothing.
These drops seem to work well for daily treatment but I’m still sensitive to loud noises so sometimes I’ll use them with noise reducing earplugs like these. I just try to make sure I put my drops in a while before I use the earplugs so they don’t get soaked in oil.
My only complaint about the oil is the smell. It reeks of garlic which isn’t very pleasant. It’s kind of like having garlic bread stuffed inside your ears. And the people around you will notice it. It’s funny actually the last time I used it my room mate thought I was cooking up something in the kitchen. Imagine his surprise when I told him it was just the oil for my ears. I’m getting used to it though…and I can put up with smelling like garlic if it means that my ears will stop ringing.
I would recommend anyone with tinnitus to give this ear oil a try. It doesn’t smell the best but from my experience it does help with the ringing. Other people on amazon seem to agree as well. I will be purchasing it again once I’m done with this initial bottle.
